But the extended use of the later has brought to an evolution of their design, an evolution that for me is quite logical (hence the many types of military sabres). The same thing applies of course to the western military sabre of the same time period. Of course not only against unarmed people nor only against other shashkas weilders. ![]() (you can read about battles with shashkas even during the 20th century). My time frame actually is much more contemporary.ĭuring the last 300 years the "shashkas" had no evolution of their design (to my knowledge of course) although they where used in combat with a ferociously good and adequate manner. ![]() For example the Byzantine "paramerion" (ðáñáìÝñéïí) is a good example of such an adoption. Other cultures have adopted some kind of hand protection to their sabres although they took the original idea from the Mongols or other Oriental races wich they didint had the guard.
